1986 an accident occurred in Ukraine. Reactor number four at the edge of the town of Pripyat was destroyed by an explosion and a cloud of radioactive particles spread by the wind over large parts of Europe. That event laid the foundation for my story about the apocalypse, a series of sculptures and pictures that I worked with until 1993. I got my inspiration from Andrei Tarkovsky, Joseph Beuys, Hermann Nitsch, Anselm Kiefer, Jannis Kounellis, Panamarenko, Steve Reich, Arvo Part, Iannis Xenakis, Einstürzende Neubauten, young Gods, H.R.Giger, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Carl Orff, Laibach, Ingmar Bergman, Caravaggio, Beethoven, Albrecht Durer. Jacques-Louis David, Ridley Scott. william Gibson. George Orwell, and many more...... Rubber, iron, lead, plastic and torn fabrics are the materials I used.
